Blackfriars Theatre Shares April Event Lineup

Join Blackfriars Theatre this April as they present a wide array of artistic offerings. Opening March 22nd and running through April 7th is the heist-thriller Mauritius by Theresa Rebeck. This high-stakes drama centers around the story of two estranged sisters who, after their mother's death, come across a rare stamp collection containing the crown jewel(s) for collectors. Tickets to Mauritius are available over the phone or online: http://www.blackfriars.org/mauritius.

On March 30th at 10 a.m. & 12:30 p.m., Blackfriars is proud to present Drag Story Hour with Mrs. Kasha Davis. This event is completely free of charge and invites families to add a little sparkle to their story time. Drag Story Hour teaches love and acceptance, gives strength to kids who see themselves differently, and serves as a resource for parents who need support or want to learn more. This month's book will be "A Peacock Among Pigeons" by Tyler Curry, with a special performance by Heather Stevenson of PUSH Physical Theatre.

On April 6th at 2 p.m., the Hourglass Play Reading Series will mount the final reading of their 18-19 Season: For Peter Pan on Her 70thBirthday by Sarah Ruhl. Hourglass Play Readings are free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted at the door. This show is a fundraiser for Blackfriars's 70th Season, with tickets priced at $25 each. Tickets available by calling 585-454-1260 or online at http://www.blackfriars.org/estrofest.
