Company XIV Presents Its Newest Show BOYLESQUE BULLFIGHT Starting June 9

Company XIV, which recently presented their acclaimed production of Cinderella, will open their newest production, Boylesque Bullfight at Theater XIV (383 Troutman Street, Bushwick, Brooklyn) on Sunday, June 17th at 8 pm. Previews begin Saturday, June 9th.

Directed and choreographed by Austin Mccormick, Boylesque Bullfight, Company XIV's latest show, re-imagens the 1936 classic children's tale by Munro Leaf as an erotic all-male baroque-burlesque spectacle. Soothe summer's sizzle with flirtation, opulence and exquisite cocktails from the bar. Roll around the Spanish hillside, then enjoy a bullfight in the XIV ring where our ferocious, fertile matador challenges dear Ferdinand to a duel. Will he rise to the occasion or succumb to the field of flowers?

The cast features Ryan Redmond as Ferdinand, Marcy Richardson as El Matador and Laszlo Major as the Bumble Bee along with Nicholas Katen, Scott Schneider, Benjamin Freedman, Ian Spring, Mark Osmundsen and Jacoby Pruitt.

Creatives include costume and set design by Zane Pihlstrom; lighting design by Jeanette Yew and makeup design by Sarah Cimino.

Austin Mccormick created Company XIV in 2006 wowing critics and audiences alike with a unique blend of circus, vaudeville, burlesque, dance, ballet, opera, live music and lavish design. The company's productions of Nutcracker Rouge and Cinderella have become favorites. Austin's other credits include choreography for the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Canadian Opera Company, The Juilliard School, Guggenheim Works in Progress, Gotham Chamber Opera and the Kennedy Center.

Boylesque Bullfight will play through July 29th. Performance schedule is Fridays at 8 pm; Saturdays at 6 pm and 10 pm and Sundays at 8 pm. Tickets are priced from $55.00 to $260.00. For information and bookings go to www.companyxiv.com
