Life doesn't always turn out as we plan, does it? This was the same for Leonard "Lenny" Kravitz. Too Good For The Hood by Michael and Danny D'Agostino is a funny, comedic journey into Lenny's life. On any given day while Lenny was growing up, beginning in 1994 in Staten Island, New York, he would see the hustle and bustle of his multicultural community - from food being thrown into the gutters to junk being strewn in the streets. Meet his grandmother who's always cold so she wears two sweaters and is still cold; Uncle Bernie who believes in the benefits of wearing copper, even for your teeth; Aunt Edna who has a constant twitch; Aunt Bernice who maintains this awful smell around her due to the salve that she puts on her neck; and his mother, Rose. Through it all, he was surrounded by love. Lenny excelled at everything that he put his mind to but once he graduated from college with a double major in math and accounting in 2008, the recession hits. Will this high achiever be able to weather the storms or will he begin to fade fast and succumb to the challenges that beset him?

How I enjoyed this book because it kept me laughing so much. It was hilarious. Michael and Danny D'Agostino have taken some of their personal lives and wrapped it into the story. Lenny's family, a bunch of hypochondriacs, and their antics will keep you laughing and you may even see yourself and your own family in this story. This book is a great page-turner and, with each turn, you don't want to miss anything. Collectively the authors have a selection of 35 other works of comedy from a novel, plays and an audiobook to screenplays. You must get your copy of Too Good For The Hood because if not you're going to miss out on a great treat. Also, try some of their other books and tell your family and friends. I look forward to reading more from this awesome writing duo.

Purchase the book on Amazon or Barnes and Noble or other Retail Book stores.
