So shes playing NYC in Brooklyn next Thursday and Im debating on going. I mean Im prob going, but debating on how much to pay. Anyone seen it? Does she start on time?
Have you seen her before? If you have....save your moolah. The show is awful. If this is your first time, then go see it. If Chic is still her opening act or some other act then they perform at ticket time first, then Cher. Cher doesn't make you wait too long. Maybe an extended intermission of 15 to 20 minutes longer. Once she hits the stage she "sings" two song and then rambles on and on for about 13 minutes. (Keep in mind I saw this months ago, maybe she has changed it) Once she gets to performing, (I'll use that word instead of singing) she is actually on stage about 60 minutes. The show is longer, just without Cher. If you choose nosebleed seats, the cameras do not show close up views of her. HMMM. If you can see it for less than $100 including fees and it's an okay seat, then go for it .
I just looked on the Barclays map (I assume that is the show in question) and she has sold very well. All I saw was some scattered resell tickets. You may be able to get a good or reasonable buy from someone selling (not scalpers) a ticket outside, because their friend, etc cancelled.
Yeah! Looking at StubHub they have tickets for $200 which I wouldn’t mind paying in then nose bleeds. I’ve seen Madonna, Barbara, Bette, so I’m trying to see all the living gay legends. I feel like she won’t be touring again.
Since you wrote about seeing the living gay legends...you do know that Celine is touring? I wasn't going to see her since I saw her twice in Las Vegas and she is kind of dull in concert. I was helping a friend with a presell code I had and stumbled onto a really great seat for $99 with fees $120. I said what the hell. Her concert is the biggest hyped show to come to Jacksonville in years. Her prices continually changed depending on what time of day it was. if you are buying your ticket for Cher through Ticketmaster, make sure you get a copy (if they are still doing it) of her new cd. They will send you an email to verify your address.
I had a great time, actually. She came out and 2 songs back to back and then spoke to us for a good 10 minutes, which I wish she could have done more. I loved hearing her stories and little quips. I thought she sounded great vocally! Some of it, I’m sure, was lip synced, but a lot of it sounded live. My only quibble was the actual show felt cheap and dated compared to other tours I’ve seen.
I thought this was rough. I don’t think a single note was sung live, the set was pathetic and she didn’t even do the best songs off her ABBA album. Everyone around me looked bored stiff. I was very disappointed tonight.
I adore Cher. I've seen all of her tours and this was easily the worst. A total cash grab. Recycling old and worn out scenic elements (RETIRE THE ELEPHANT) and the oddest song choices. Aside from the rambling, but cute monologue she didn't address the audience once. No speaking to them at all. Easily her most disconnected show.
People who paid 1000+ for front row should be livid. There was a chasm between them and the stage and she never looked at them once. She took her best older songs and replaced them with ABBA songs she performed on the riser completely disconnected. Why is taking out classics and doing the terrible Burlesque song exactly as she did in the Dressed To Kill tour (which was among her best.)
Even Woman's World was a modest hit. Not sure why insists on playing it. Plus she's on stage for an hour tops with all the vamping and costume changes. Audience was bored.
It's a messy mishmash. At this point, I'd love if she just did a stripped down tour. Come out in her jeans, no costume changes and dig into deep cuts from her amazing catalog. The hits are pretty worn out.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello

It sounds like the same show she has been doing in Vegas. A lazy rehash of her last two tours with all the old production elements taken out of storage. Is she in need of money?
