Hi. I dont know if maybe its too early for suggestions.
Was looking at making a trip down first have of November 2019 for a long weekend kinda thing. Was hoping to catch:
Moulin Rouge! Tina ! Hadestown ! Girl From North County (if its what replaces Oklahoma)
Possibly Be More Chill
Then maybe see again: The Cher Show Mean Girls
Id see Diana again if its opened on Broadway by fall. Though I feel it might be until the spring 2020 Same as company
Id like to finally see Hamilton. If I win the lottery
Any thoughts on the ferryman or Oklahoma extending? Or if Mockingbird is a must see.
I have seen a lot of whats already open just wondering thoughts or insight. My friend is planning on coming and she hasnt been down for close to 15 years. Thanks
Kind of doubtful that Ferryman would extend all the way until November when it’s supposed to close in July. Not a fan of it myself. There will probably be a new crop of plays by then so good to keep some slots open.
I kinda doubt The Ferryman will extend until then too. It started off very strong, but has struggled more lately at the box office it appears, especially since the American cast took over.
Based on the polarized responses on here, I’d say Oklahoma (even with a possible win for best revival) will struggle with attracting buyers through positive word-of-mouth. So not sure it’ll be here in November (likely when my next trip is, too).
Other shows high up on my list (that you haven’t mentioned) that should be playing/opening in November are:
- Tootsie - Company - Jagged Little Pill - West Sde Story - I can’t recall if it opens Fall 2019 or Spring 2020
I hope to God that My Fair Lady is still running by November, and if it is, that would be a must-see in my book. A wonderful group of people with an exceptional director and beautiful staging/set. It's definitely not going to be the same style as "Oklahoma!", but it's an excellent revival that handles the show's themes really well.

I’m still hoping that in the next month or two that Tina announces dates, and we find out if Company and Girl from the North County are here by fall.
As well I’m hoping that before the end of the run at La Jolla that Diana has an announcement of a broadway life hopefully by fall. I’m hoping they don’t wait til next year to bring it

re: Diana - after those reviews are you so sure it’s coming in at all? One said it turns Diana into an episode of “Dynasty”, one said it was less satisfying than fish and chips, one said the score sounds like a collection of B-sides etc, and all said it was less enlightening than a CNN tribute. I also hear they’re having trouble raising the money - not saying they won’t, just saying that’s the buzz. Anyway, with so many other already-proven great shows, or with bigger buzz, not sure why one would be hoping they rush this in rather than waiting another year or at least doing a lot of work, let alone saving a slot for a hypothetical Broadway run that seems by no means certain

Thats interesting to hear I saw it two weeks ago everyone in the room was raving about it as well The music I’m still humming and singing around the house Tickets are so difficult to find and during the intermission we were talking about a transfer and people were saying they have had a lot of visitors coming to make check it out and see about transferring it and by all reports it would transfer as soon as the fall if not next year So it’s interesting that you’ve heard differently
I don’t deny some songs have to be cut or reworked but I really agreed that it was quite close to show ready
