I think the daughter of a C list actress like Lori Loughlin, being considered a "You Tube star" and having 1.4 million Instagram followers is the real crime here.
Of course, nobody has ever bribed their kid's way into a major college before. It is entirely without precedent in the history of life on earth.
Next up -- people crossing the street against the lights.
"If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers." Thomas Pynchon, GRAVITY'S RAINBOW

I think it's funny & sad in the same instance that Lori Loughlin and her husband spent $500,000 for their kids to go to a school they had no interest in. But, I guess it doesn't matter anymore since they will probably never need to get real jobs.
I think the most annoying, but unsurprising, thing is that Lori will be allowed to travel back to Canada for filming projects. If that doesn't scream rich, white privilege, I don't know what does.

I don't think it screams anything other than 1) it's a non-violent crime and 2) As a public figure, she's a very minimal flight risk and in fact as soon as she found out she was "wanted" flew back FROM Canada to turn herself in. She posted $1 million bail. The purpose of bail is to ensure appearance, nothing more. But sure make it about race.

She doesn't have to worry aboout that anymore. Those kids might need jobs someday after all.
Hallmark Channel Cuts Ties With Lori Loughlin Amid College Admissions Scandal
Funny. The first thing I thought when I read about Lori was that the Hallmark Channel would kick her to the curb. It appears I was right. Thank goodness though. She is such a bad actress. The Unfortunate thing for her is that this scandal will be the opening paragraph if her obituary.
Yes, bribes and donations have been around for a long time - doesn't make it right and shouldn't make is acceptable. It's also the SCALE on which this happened, with the ringleader making 25 million bucks.
Sickening.

Agree DramaMama, sickening indeed. All those kids who work their tails off to get into college only to be denied when someone bribes their way in. I'd be interested in how many of those BriberyBabies cheated once they were admitted. Did mom and dad hire someone to write their college class papers or bribe professors to give them passing grades? There may be more to this.
C'mon guys- if famous ladies weren't involve how much airtime would this really get?
Of course it's been going on 4ever . It's not just the prestige of being a graduate of a top school, esp if they don't have to "earn" a living, it's the opportunity to mix w other trust fund babies and scions of wealthy powerful families- not what you know but who. If all they wanted was a degree they could go to any diploma mill and have someone take the courses for them!
He!! George R. pulled strings ( and probably donated too) to get George W. into Yale. But at least he knew there is no honour amongst thieves and went through more "respectable" (ha!) channels.
Is it fair? Nope. But since when does being fair have anything to do with being rich and privileged?
I disagree that this wodnt be getting air time without Hollywood. This is organized crime without violence.

The guy wrote a BOOK on how to manage the system- no action. Had a business that" offered a premium, personalized service at $7,000 a year and a tech-based option for $250 to $2,000,"- No action.
This was all out there. Only when he got caught and threw his clients under the bus and some were famous did the spotlight glow.
“Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we are. They are different". F. Scott Fitzgerald
If you are going to spend $500,000 on getting your child into a good college, at least make it an Ivy League school or someplace like Notre Dame or Stanford -lol
^ those were my thoughts, too. The University of Spoiled Children has never had the greatest reputation for being particularly selective. Especially when "accommodating" to students who have rich and famous parents. Lori's daughter must have gotten some pretty *****y grades and test scores.
But I don't really understand why Lori and Felicity are the sacrificial lambs. This kind of behavior -sometimes worse behavior- happens ALL the time in college athletics.
