One of my favorite artists just announced a residency at the Park Theater starting this May! Its called Metamorphosis and it is a retrospective of her career. It will also celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Rhythm Nation (damn I’m old). Fan club presale was today, general sale starts tomorrow. Were going in May!!! Anyone else going?
I will be in Vegas in July, but going to see Reba and Brooks & Dunn. My other choice for the nights there was Aerosmith or Gwen Stefani. I am over Aerosmith and I saw Gwen in concert about a year and a half ago. Had her show started earlier, that night, I may have chosen her. When I read about Janet's Las Vegas residency, I wasn't really upset about missing her. I saw her last in concert December 2017. I wouldn't pay Vegas prices for her. Report back and write about your experience. I had the best seats I have ever had with her (fifth row) and have seen her in concert, I think four times. The best thing I can say about this last concert is: she looked really good, she danced really good, and my pictures came out excellent. I won't say anything else. I hope your experience lives up to expectations since she is one of your favorite artists.
ArtMan, I know what you mean about the Vegas prices, yikes! However, it will be worth it to us as a special experience in a great environment. Sorry about your bad experience with Janet in 2017. We saw her twice during the 2018 tour and she was stellar. Hoping for the same in Vegas. I will definitely report back!
luvcaroline, I just looked, out of curiosity, the map with most prices for Janet. $650-$550 for the mid section? What were the prices for balcony seating? I could have put in my Citi number to unlock (but too lazy). I paid $85 with fees for Reba and Brooks & Dunn. Obviously, that is not the best seating at the Coloseum, but I was generally happy for the price, when I sat up there before for Celine (twice). Also, not sure if interested, but if you go to Vegas4locals ebay store website, they put secondary shows up for auction regularly. Some people really spend too much, in my opinion. (Their bids are still cheaper) But many times you get real bargains. I won Aussie Heat (male strip show at Planet Hollywood), two tickets for .99. And a comedy magic show at Stratosphere, two tickets for $4.25. They also have some dinner vouchers and outdoor activities. Read the fine print on each listing for specific details before bidding. Also, the listings sometimes change. I have seen Opium on there a couple of times. (Which is maybe a higher quality show) Also, you don't have to be a local to use the vouchers.
I think balcony are in $90-110 range, we splurged for lower this time. Thanks for the tips on the other shows. I’ve used smartervegas.com before and got some decent discounts.
I wouldlove to go but at this point it is only for three months and pieces are too high for me. I won't have to worry about hotel costs but will have to fly across country.

Glad you had a great time. I just looked at the setlist and it looks like a more entertaining show then the State of the World tour. I moved my day tours around and I added Gwen Stefani for my July trip.
Art man, one thing that I was going to recommend was to not look at the setlist prior to the concert! There were some unexpected gems, including deep cuts and songs she hasn’t done live in years. Part of the enjoyment was being surprised!
I'm a huge Janet fan, though never saw her live in concert (don't know if I want to, either). However, I can't believe she's 53. 53! She's just a couple of years younger than I am, and she looks incredible. To me, she and i will always be in our 20s, though. LOL
I saw Janet on the short lived "Unbreakable" Tour that got cancelled. That was a 90 minute set that was most likely her Vegas show that she cancelled at the time and it was incredibly disappointing. She lip synched for 90 minutes and did very little dancing. Her body was covered from head to toe as she was married at the time to a strict Muslim. The moans were edited out of Throb. Sad. Not becoming a legend. It's no surprise she pulled the plug.
I then saw her on the revamped "State of the World" Tour after her divorce and that was better. A full show, she was dancing and dressed in her signature sexy styles. However, the Vegas prices are obscene if she is lip synching. She can sing and should be singing. I hope she is.
