Sorry if this is a repetitive question— I can’t seem to find a 2018 thread when I search. Anyway, I was just wondering what Dear Evan Hansen is like atm in terms of getting tickets. I haven’t kept up with their policy in awhile but I’m going to nyc with a friend who wants to see it and I’ve heard sro is what’s available right now. Just looking for some advice.

Back in March I got to the box office around 9:20 on a Saturday morning and got the two center standing room spots for that evening. The only way to get a seat at the same price ($42) is to do the lottery, but I've heard if you're not one of the first 6 you get standing room for that too.

First, to address your question, in general I have heard that it's easier to get tickets than it used to be. Definitely don't have to camp out anymore.

Secondly (and to address the part I bolded), this one is a question for the Moderators. I have been noticing an influx of repeat questions lately, and I think that's because the search section has gotten really broad, in terms of what is searched for. I don't know if this has always been the case, but I feel like it used to be much easier to search for things. For example, if I search a very specific thread, like  "What's next for the [fill in the blank theatre]?" I not only get that thread, but every thread that has to do with that theatre. And sometimes I have to search pretty far to find the thread I'm looking for. And so I can only imagine that things are even harder for people who are trying to search for things like Dear Evan Hansen, for which there are many many many threads. I don't know if there's anything that can be done to fix this, but I thought it was worth bringing up.

To the OP, I wish you luck in getting tickets for DEH! :)

We had tickets waiting at the box office so we went right when the box office opened. There was one couple in front of us, we were second. As it got closer to box office opening time, the line quickly started growing and a lot of people were asking if you were cancellation or picking up tickets then counting how far back they were. The couple in front of us got tickets but after that I’m not sure because we picked up the tickets and left. I’d suggest getting there about a half hour before the box office opens because that’s when we got there and it was just the one couple. This was May 27 so right before a holiday too.

I rushed yesterday (6/16). Got in line at 8 (early, but we wanted to be first in line to grab SRO) and only had 4 people behind us by the time box office opened at 10. The box office agent/manager was able to tell us that 6 SRO tickets were available for the matinee and 4 for the evening. As soon as the box office opened, we got our SRO for the matinee (spots 103, 104), the guy behind us and his friend got the 4 evening SRO. The 2 ladies behind them got the last 4 SRO for the matinee (105, 106, 107,108).

I'm very happy that we didn't have to wait long to get tickets :)

p.s. If you're short, make sure you ask an usher for a step box - wow, what a difference that bit of extra height made (I'm 5'2"DEH sro/rush/lottery? :)

But remember that SRO spots are never guaranteed to be available.  So even if you get there early and you're #1 in line, there may not be spots being sold.... or there could be 20. You never know.

Two Sundays ago I was first in line at 8:30am. There were only 4 SRO spots available that day. I believe they are the ones that are unused by the cast.

On 2 show days do they sell SRO for the evening show when the box office opens or do they release those later in the day?

CarmenA3's first reply above says they sold both when the box office opened.

I was at the box office two Sundays ago (day of the Broadway flea market) at 11:00 and was first in line for the first half an hour. I was slowly joined by a few more people and I think there were roughly 10 - 15 people in line at 12:00. Sorry that I didn't catch how many SRO tickets that were available in total but there were definitely at least three as the two lovely people behind me got tickets too!

updating this thread! I was looking for recent updates and I couldn't find any. so today (6/19) my friend and I got to the music box at 8:20 and we were the first in line until around 9. once the doors opened, there were only two standing room tickets each for the matinee and the evening. I bought the two for the matinee, but I needed four. the lady at the box office said to wait in the back of the lobby by the wall until 11. at 11 she would let us know if there were any unclaimed lottery tickets. luckily there were and we were the first in line to get them! the standing room line got pretty long after 10. but nyc public school is still in session so I'm not sure what time would be best to get to the theatre once all schools are out and more vacationers come. but for $42 I would highly recommend this. easiest way to see the show with a great view!

Wanting to rush, but are there any sitting tickets or is it all SRO?  Getting them for my Mom who has a bad back and couldn't stand for an entire show.  If it's all SRO, might have to try another one for her.

9/21: I’m not doing rush for DEH, but I’m rushing for Betrayal across the street and there was only one person in line for DEH rush at 6:30am when I was walking around the neighborhood. There are roughly 20 people in line right now at 9:21am.

Maybe yesterday was a fluke, but on 8/21 (Friday) I got a SRO ticket at 11am with no waiting.

Yes, my sister and I got there in 9/21 (Sat) at about 6:50/ 7:00 and were the second and third in line. Girls in front of us got there at 5:00am. No one else cane until at least 8:30. We wanted to make sure we got Rush tickets for the matinee. We were definitely fine, and didn’t need to be there quite so early.

What did you both end up with?

Any info on rush now that the show has reopened? On the website it says no SRO for the time being. Is this the case? Can we still get 2 tickets per person? Thx

The only thing I've seen mentioned is the digital lottery has reopened, but I haven't checked about rush or standing room: https://www.instagram.com/p/CXbd6QtBUs4/ and https://dearevanhansenlottery.com/

I rushed for tonight’s show (at intermission now). I got to the box office today around 10:30am and they had availability for the matinee and evening performances. Jordan is not scheduled to perform matinees, so I opted for the evening performance. They sold me partial view (2nd row mezz, which I haven’t found to miss any action at all so far) for $69.

Has anyone tried for a rush ticket in 2022 yet? What are the prices/availability/demand/seats looking like these days?

I've won the lottery twice in January,  went to see the show once. My seat was in centre orchestra,  row K. Plenty of seats were empty.

I rushed on Saturday 2/5 for the evening show. I got to the box office at 2:20 and was able to get a ticket for the last row of the orchestra for $69- an awesome seat. The last row is raised a little higher than the rest of the orchestra so there were no heads in my way or anything. There were two seats still open in my row during the show, so maybe they didn't sell all of their rush?
