Does anybody happen to know if this is legit? This site is saying that Paul Gordon's musical of 'Emma' will be... or has been?... filmed on a soundstage in a 'mid-century modern' reimagining, and will be made available to stream online for a price. A group called 'Streaming Musicals' is behind this. The webpage seems a bit half-finished, the pre-order button doesn't go anywhere, the video is from another show, and some of those photos don't look very professional... I'm confused. If this is real, I guess this must be a low-budget endeavour. Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that.
On the "perhaps it's real" side of the scale, Paul Gordon has written a couple of articles for this site in the past, unless they're fake too. And we know he's okay with having his productions filmed.
According to Paul Gordon's website (though nowhere else that I can find), there were once plans to bring 'Emma' to Off-Broadway (live, presumably) in Spring 2018. That page also mentions a stream of his 'Sense and Sensibility' that I don't think ever happened.
A good number of folks from the original cast in California are doing this...I recognize Brian Herndon and Dani Marcus in the Trailer as Mr. Elton and Harriet.
$20 is reasonable I guess considering the price for a musical but it's expensive for streaming and based on the trailer, it looks like it was shot terribly. What are those angles? The only part that looks directed for streaming is the otherwise inexplicable straight to camera shots. Also, what period of time is this supposed to take place during? I don't understand those costumes at all.
