Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone had experienced the ATG Lounge Package Experience for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" on Broadway. If so, please share your experience. I am also quite curious about the "special gift" that comes with the package. Thank you all in advance.

We just did it this past week.  I had a choice for my selected date between premium tickets or prime tickets with lounge for $5 less and a couple of rows back, so I took the lounge experience.  The seats were still very good. Regular prime tickets were not available on my date, but the website showed they are $95 cheaper without the lounge.  So it's $190 for the lounge experience that includes both part one and part two of the play.

The tickets do not indicate that you have the lounge experience, but when they scan your ticket, the staff will let you know that you do and where to go.

The lounge is located downstairs to the left of the restrooms.  You gave the staff member your reservation name and they let you in and gave you your souvenir brochure.  This souvenir is not a lounge exclusive, it's the same one sold in the gift shop for $20.  You can see it on the cursedchildstore website under books.  You only get one souvenir for each ticket, you don't get a second souvenir when seeing part two of the play.

Inside the lounge is seating with small tables.  Each table has seating for the number in your party, so you don't have to share a table with others, though the seating is close to others if you want to mingle.

You get one complimentary drink when you enter for each part, with some exclusions (the hostess showed us three liquors that are not included, but I never asked what they were) but it is not complimentary after intermission.

They had a small hors d'oeuvres section. There were some changes between each part and intermissions of what was offered.

The host and hostess were very nice and made sure to talk with each guest and answer questions that you might have.

There are two unisex bathrooms reserved for the lounge guests, but just before show start, and at intermission you still had to wait.

Is it worth it? That of course is for each individual to decide.  I hope I gave you some insight to make that decision for yourself.

JB

Thank you very much! I’m currently having difficulty selecting my ticket and where to sit so this was really helpful. Just out of curiosity, does your complimentary beverage come in one of the “plastic tumbler”?

The drink did not come in a tumbler, but the hostess did say you can get one for $4.  The family who bought it elected not to put their drink in it, so they could take the clean one home.

I have nothing to add to this since I haven't seen the play, but I just want to thank jb89 for their thorough and very helpful reply to OP's question. It's posts like that that make this board so special--theater fans just helping each other. :)

Isn't it refreshing when someone offers genuine assistance instead of chiming in just to throw vitriol and snark?

Did they offer this when tickets very first went onsale? I don't remember seeing it when i got mine on that first day. Would love to have done this. I like the drink/snack package they do at The Hudson.

I don't know if you're referring to the original on-sale, when you had to have an access code. I didn't get a code, so my first opportunity to purchase was in late March when they suddenly released a bunch of additional seats. At that time, the lounge optional was available.

Sorry, I should have been more precise. Yes, I got my tickets in the very first round with the code. Seeing it today!

lsalas - You're most welcome. I'm interested to hear what you chose to do.

One other piece of information that will be helpful. The lounge had about 30-40 people in it the day I went. Don't know why I missed including that.

LuminousBeing - I'm glad you found the post helpful :)

Hi JB89

I just want you to know that your excellent and detailed response is also helping another Broadway.com member who already bought an ATG experience ticket.

I almost went for the ATG Experience but found a Centre Dress Circle Row B seat that I could not refuse. I'm beyond excited to add this show to my yearly New York trip. If you don't mind sharing, I would love to hear your thoughts about the show. Please feel free to post it publicly or email me.

Thank you again JB89. I truly, truly appreciate the generosity of your time and insight.

#KeeptheSecrets  :)

I will say when I read the book I found it disappointing.  Seeing it acted out was much better and I ended up enjoying the show..

EXCELLENT! LOL!

I was wondering if I should read the book/script first before going or skip it and just be "surprised". That answers that!

Thank you!

Definitely go in and be surprised, that’s what I did and I can’t recommend that route enough.

I'm so used to huge mark-ups for everything sold at theaters that this post stuck out so much. That's really cheap.
