It's abut two months away from the first preview, which means rehearsals must start quite soon and there has been no word who will be appearing in Bennett's latest play. All the other shows at The Bridge have at least a star in place- e.g. Laura Linney, Jim Broadbent- and given that ALLELUJAH! is set in a hospital- partly in a geriatric wing- I am hoping that there might be some fine old British actors lined up? I'm trying not to wish too hard for someone like Maggie Smith or Judi Dench, but what about actors who are still working but not seen nearly enough: has the wonderful John Woodvine stopped doing stage work? I saw Julian Glover in a play in Liverpool a few years ago and he was wonderful (opposite Sheila Reid). I'd be thrilled to see Stephanie Cole again or Patricia Routledge!

Just wondering if anyone has heard rumours?

Maybe Frances de la Tour, who has been in several of Alan's plays.

That was my thought, too.
