Hi all,      I'll have May 21, 22, 28, 29 to see  a show or two in London.    I've been to London before and am also fairly up to date with shows in New York.   Any opinions on the following:

Young Frankenstein,   Tina,   An Ideal Husband, Brief Encounter, Chess, Mood Music at the Old Vic, Nine Night at National Theater, Peter Pan at Regent Open Air, Quiz.    Lots to choose from---could you rate the best?     Many thanks!

We don't yet know about the new ones - Tina, Mood Music, Nine Night etc. - but might be worth taking a gamble! We'll have reviews up nearer the time, and it's always fun to see a new show early on. Tina in particular has a lot of buzz.

Young Frankenstein is very much the tone of the film (gloriously silly), Ideal Husband (based on the others in that season) is Wilde done in a sumptuous, traditional and perceptive way, Regent's Park is a lovely outdoor theatre experience when the weather's nice, Quiz is thought-provoking and entertaining drama, Brief Encounter inventive and romantic. So it really depends on your personal preferences.

You could also try Red at Wyndham's, with Alfred Molina, the new season at the Globe, or Translations at the National - great cast https://www.broadwayworld.com/westend/article/National-Theatre-Announces-New-Casting-for-Upcoming-Season-20180221

It's the buzz I'm trying to get a feel for.   Sounds like Tina would be a good bet!   Young Frankenstein also, so maybe those are the two.      I'd love to go to Regents Park again as it is a magical feeling when the weather is perfect, but it's a chance.    Some good choices.   Thanks.    If you know of any other 'buzz' let us know.

Thanks!

In that case yes, Tina's definitely a good pick. And Young Frankenstein is v. fun - very different to the original Broadway incarnation. Have a great trip!
