Got day seat last week and had a fun time at theatre. A real crowd pleaser. Bouncy score and based on true character. Very positive reviews.

Loved it. John and Josie give phenomenal performances.

Josie singing He's my boy broke my heart.

It's not without fault, some diction issues for me and needs some fleshing out around the drag characters.

However, it's an absolute belter of a show and I'll be back to see it as it was joyous.

I thought this would be right up my street but I really didn't like it. I think it was mostly down to the songs- just didn't click for me at all!

I also found it way over hyped but charming.  I saw the understudy for Josie who should not ever be paid to perform on a stage.  Jamie is extraordinary.  The students and their group songs are fantastic, but mostly I found it dragged and the music is subpar.

I saw the show tonight on a trip to London. The show is wonderful. Full of energetic performances, great music, and a touching story. I am so glad I saw it. The cast album just was released and I was able to purchase one to being home with me.
I wish it will come to America so that I get to see it again.

Hated it. John is wonderful but the score is so horrendous, it should still be being workshopped and rewritten out of town. But London musical theatre is pretty weak so people love it. Aside from what, ALW and Tim Minchin, there's not one decent British composer in musical theatre right now.

Hmmm, quite a few differences of opinion.  I guess I'll form my own on April 23.

Looking up the Vue cinema listing today and it shows a cinema link for this show  - presumably live on Thursday July 5th 7.20

Really love that cinema links are allowing so many shows to be shown outside London and at a fraction of a theatre seat prices let alone the travel/hassle to get to London or any in town Theatre. add in the local Vue has comfortable seats, great view and sound and its a very positive alternative to being crunched in a theatre seat at three or more times the price.

I cant say the Oliver performance made it a must see as the song was so repetitive and whole routine was high energy but nothing very new in style but this is an affordable way to try it and I suppose they can see if there is interest outside London for a tour.

I thought it was ok, I did love the set, very simple yet effective, and the projections were well used. Being in such a tiny venue helps alot.

"He's my boy" was the stand out song for me being the only one I remembered the tune after seeing it.

It kind of reminded me of Blood Brothers, a good show, small venue, not a tone of memorable songs, but a good night out. I did however have issue alot of times with diction, accents yes, but diction mainly, where words get lost either because of the singing of fast talking.

The UK is honestly sensational at airing theatre performances in cinemas. There's no reason not to spread the joy to areas and people who would otherwise not get to go, especially when a show has already closed. The rest of the world really should take note!

Saw the show last Monday and really enjoyed it.  Had my wife crying.  For comparison we saw Kinky Boots last Wednesday and we both agreed that Jamie is better.
