I didn't want to search for the old thread.  For those that are interested and take part in the Ticketmaster settlement for free general admission tickets, they have posted new shows.  Good luck.  One show, that I wanted, by the time I got to it,was sold out.

Wanted everybody to know that the shows for 2018 have been released to use your general admission vouchers.  The shows in my area are really skimpy.  Hope everyone has a better variety.

I have quite a few vouchers, but nothing is listed here in Seattle.  Odd.

Bobby, The venues they use for the free general admissions are mostly amphitheaters with lawn seating.  I live in Jacksonville, but the amphitheater we have does not have lawn seating.  The same with the amphitheater in St Augustine, 40 miles away.  The closest venue to me, that offers lawn seating is in Tampa, about 4 and a half hours away.  I normally do the vouchers for there, since if the show isn't sold out they offer a $10-$20 upgrade to the normal seats.  There was only about 7 shows offered for Tampa, nothing really that great to drive that far for.  I did cash in a voucher for Lady Antebellum/Darius Rucker.  Also Charlie Puth.

You do that option on the website or at the venue? I don't see it anywhere but I'd definitely do that for a show or two cause I hate lawn seats.

Broadway Joe, They do it at the venue.  At least the one in Tampa does.  Once you go through the gates, they have staff shouting "who want to upgrade their seats?"  I have never sat in the lawn.  The more you spend the better the upgrade.  I normally just pay the $10 or $20.  Once, for Gwen Stefani's last solo tour, I got a great upgrade for free.  Of course, this happens only if the show is not sold out.  Which has been the case everytime I go to this amphitheater.

Thanks for letting us know! I totally forgot about this and turns out I had 4 tickets, I redeemed them for Kesha and Macklemore on Sunday. Taking my boyfriend, my friend and her daughter and they’re very excited.

There are many seats available.. is the upgrade thing on a case by case basis or do most do it?

N2nbaby, I'm not sure if other amphitheaters do it, since I have only used the vouchers at Tampa.  The upgrades are for anyone who is on the lawn, not just people who use the vouchers.  I would ask a couple of different employees once you enter if you don't hear them asking customers if they want an upgrade.  Kesha and Macklemore was one of my choices also.  I would go if it was local, but not the distance I have to drive.  I still have about six vouchers to use and they expire in 2020.  I will say, at least in my area, Florida & Georgia, the shows offered are minimal in quantity vs the first year they did this.

Thanks for the heads up on this. As expected, the events are extremely skimpy even though I looked at several cities across the whole region. Like you, I did grab tix for Antebellum/Darius Rucker. Not really a fan and barely know their music but I like country so hopefully might discover something new to like. Could have gotten Rod Stewart/Cyndi Lauper as well but out of town the week their show is scheduled near me. Oh well, used 1 voucher last year, 1 this year. 8 left and 2 years left to use them. LOL. Doing better with the 10 $2.25 vouchers I also received. Been able to already use 8 so should be able to use the other 2 without any problems before they expire.

If you want to drive down to Auburn, there are 2 events listed there including Foreigner next Friday. Tickets going fast for that one.

Uncle Charlie,  The few shows they listed have sold out really fast.  There only about half of the shows remaining in my area.  I love country also, but Lady Antebellum is not a group I closely follow.  I do know at least two of their songs which were so popular they crossed over to the POP stations.  I also like their sound.  I don't know if you know this, but Darius Rucker is Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish.  I was an usher some years back at one of his shows.  He does include Hootie and the Blowfish hits into his setlist.  Also some country standards from other artists.

Thanks ArtMan. Yeah I did know that about Darius., I remember when he crossed over into country when Hootie & The Blowfish went on hiatus. Unfortunately, I wasn't really a fan of them either LOL. But what the hell. The tickets are free, it's a weekday evening I didn't have any plans for and it's a nice venue. Really bummed I'm out of town for Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper. I think I would have really enjoyed that one.

I am actually seeing Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper this Thursday in Orlando.  (About 2 hour drive)  It wasn't a free voucher show.  I was waiting on Groupon or craigslist offers.  It hasn't sold that well, so it is a buyer's market.  The other day the venue sent me an offer for club seats that aren't bad with a total including fees of $65,  I didn't think that was a bad price.  Maybe, could have found a cheaper ticket outside, but this way I don't have to stand for the entire concert and then drive back two hours.

I agree with you. If I'm driving 4 hours roundtrip to see something, I want to make sure I get in so if it costs $10 or $20 more than I would have ideally liked to pay, so be it. Should be a fun show. Let me know how they do.

Just wanted to give a thank you for mentioning the upgrades! I honestly didn’t know that concerts usually do it (though I don’t usually buy lawn seats). I got us GREAT tickets for $20 a piece with the upgrade, which is obviously a steal since the tickets were free to begin with. The concert was amazing! I saw Kesha a few years ago and she was... not great. She was amazing last night, as was Macklemore. Few people know how to hold a crowd in the palm of their hand like these two do.

Also, it was great because with the free tickets we also got free parking AND free admission to the park! Was quite a nice day. With all the free things, I don’t even feel the need to bitch about the overpriced Subway I ate for lunch!

Happy you enjoyed yourself and got the upgrade,  Some people have said to me why pay for the upgrade.  But the tickets were free, so all you are paying for is the minimal amount for better seats.  I saw Kesha back when she opened for Rihanna.  At the time, I thought her set was really bad.  She had some great songs, but her stage presence was lousy.  I went to look at my area again, based on what you wrote, for tickets.  Ticketmaster has already closed up the voucher shows already.  I kind of know now when they open it, so going forward, if I am still around, I will make a point to post it on here.

I was talking to someone earlier today about the Ticketmaster settlement vouchers, specifically the general admission tickets.  Tonight, I was curious so I looked up under the settlement frequent questions.  It stated that as of September 2018, Ticketmaster has fulfilled their legal obligations.  I had used up all of the $2.25 codes, but I still had about eight codes on my account for the two general admissions tickets. I hadn't been that quick to use all of them, because I thought the codes were good until 2020.  Under my account, my active vouchers are now gone.  Curious if anyone else has their codes for general admission, cleared away? The $2.25 codes are still suppose to be good until 2020.

Yeah, I saw that message last fall. Mine are all gone as well. I think they had to provide a number of tickets by 2020 but once they hit that number, they were done even if it wasn't 2020 yet. I also used up my $2.25 codes by last May. Got to use 3 of my 10 general admission vouchers but only ended up attending one of the 3 concerts. As we discussed previously, there was never really much of a selection and they filled up quickly. Most of them were lawn seats and at this point, I'm kinda past the bring a blanket and sit on the lawn stage of my life and truthfully, the 2 I skipped I wasn't that excited about anyway even if paid upgrades might have been possible. Did end up getting to see a Queen tribute band at the Wiltern in L.A. last September and that was pretty good. So what the hell, $22.50 in credits and a free show I enjoyed. I'll take it.
