Got a rush ticket for yesterday’s show! Arrived just after 12am getting 2 tickets, 2nd person got there around 12:30am and the 3rd and 4th people got there at 1:30am, after that a steady flow from 2am. I got Row L22 orchestra, although it was labelled partial view I had no issues with it at all, only thing I missed was the pianist, bassist and guitarist, other than that a perfect (albeit side) view. I know at least the first 6 people (wanting 8 tickets total) got them, after that I’m not sure how many were given!

I won't critique the previous posts careless mistakes, but if anyone wants a glimmer of hope I walked by tonight and no one was on line at 3am!

Not sure what you’re referring to about careless mistakes??

The person meant 12 am and 12:30 am. He wrote it like he showed up at noon. Confusing for a moment.

Hunter: Your teeth need whitening./ Heidi: You sound weird./ Jeff: You taste funny.
-Jeff Bowen's worst onstage line flub.

On Friday, May 18, my sister got in line for SRO at 5pm and was 12th in line. The first SRO was in line at 3pm. She did not get SRO but did end up getting a last minute Stubhub ticket for $60!

Does anyone know if most of the shows are selling out so that SRO is available or not really? I really want to go a week from today (Tuesday May 28) but I can't camp out all night, so I'm trying to figure out what the best thing is. Also, can anyone who's gotten one of the $99 box tickets in the morning say when they got in line to get that ticket?

The weekly gross reports show Hadestown at about 101.2% for the last 3 weeks (this week was actually 102.3%). That seems to imply that they have been selling SRO for every performance. If I'm thinking about the math correctly, it's POSSIBLE that if they sold SRO seats for some performances and not others, they could still end up over 100% for the week as a whole. But given that they've sort of plateaued their capacity, that doesn't seem likely in this case. It seems like they have probably been selling it for all 8 shows.

Ok so I’ll share my experience. I got SRO on Tues performance May 21. Check Ticketmaster to ensure the show is sold out. Also, just know there are ONLY 14 standing room seats max. There is a R & L orchestra standing room. There is not SRO sold for center orchestra. So if you’re past the 10th person in line for SRO I would say that is risky.
However, I got there at 3:15PM for the 7PM performance. I was 6th in line and got tickets and the 4 people behind me I know did as well. Don’t camp out for rush tickets. Just wait outside for SRO. I feel like only standing for 3.5 hours for a $39 ticket is a pretty good bargain. Definitely go and go for SRO not rush.

What time would you recommend getting there for standing room tomorrow? (Sunday the 26th)

It’s hard to predict, but generally around 3-4 hours before curtain. I’m not sure how it being Sunday will affect that though.

Thanks! Would rush for a Sunday be more like 7 or 8 AM?

i got there at 3am last week and didn’t really have any issues. It helped that there was already 5 people in line so I wasn’t alone. But Times Square is always super busy so like people will be passing through and you should be ok.

Planning to get SRO on Tuesday, but if anyone happens to be camping out for rush tickets and is only getting one, I'd gladly pay you for a second ticket!

It is very much dependent on the house’s/production’s policy about when Standing Room tickets are sold. Some shows will sell them as soon as the box office opens if they are 95%+ sold out, which I know Newsies did back in the day during its first year, as they were confident they were going to sell the rest of tickets during the day. Add to that Standing Room tickets for Newsies were severely partial view as due to the low hanging Mezzanine at the Neaderlander, and the 3 story erector set that was the shows set, standing room couldn’t see anything above the 2nd story of the rear set, or the 1.5 stories of the front set, causing the seats to miss Santa Fe, and Once and For all (two of the biggest numbers in terms of plot). This may of been why, Disney was able to sell them without truly selling out.

Other houses are much stricter with standing room, and won’t sell them until the last seat is sold. I remember waiting for Elephant Man standing room on a Friday near the end of its run. Despite the show selling an average of 105% gross potential and 101% of capacity throughout its entire run, they wouldn’t sell standing room until the last seat was sold. Unfortunately for me for me and the rest of the Standing room line there was a single $350 premium seat left unsold 10 minutes prior to curtain so they didn’t sell standing room. It sounds like Hadestown is falling inti the latter category, which sucks for those waiting in line but it seems like odds are good that it will truly sell out.

Hi! I'm planning to go to NYC next week and want to see Hadestown but I'm extreeeemely short (4'11), would you recommend SRO? Or should I just buy the $99 day-of seats (I think they're box seats?). If I decide to buy the $99 seats, at what time should I get to the box office? Or should I just buy full-price tickets either on ticketmaster or monday when I arrive at the theater?? They're a bit out of my budget so I would prefer the discounted tickets, but idk if anyone has any advice?

Anyone do standing room for a Wednesday matinee? Not sure what time to get there, or if people in the rush line who didn’t get tickets may just stay to get standing room. Any advice is appreciated!

How did the lottery work? When you won, did they give you a code to purchase via ticketmaster (like book of Mormon)? Or did they say you can pick up the tickets at will call but the ID has to match the name of the entry winner (like Hamilton)?
