Brooke should have gone. She had no connection to the lip sync. It reminded me of Tiaras commentary, if all else fails go Asian. Brooke is the same, all else fails go Prima.

I thought I’d like Vanjie more than I did, I think the viewing of the season and then the first few episodes she was very loud but she relaxed back into the character people loved from last season.

Yvie was the best in the pop video, she really upped her game, her look and was stand out. If this continues to the final she’ll be a real contender.

Akeria has kind of flown under the radar, safe, but I like her. She is great on the mic as we say here. She can serve a look though the pageant hair I don’t like. She should she can get messy with the twerk ho challenge.

Brooke is my least favourite left. However I love the trocks. Brooke’s looks aren’t varied but that didn’t harm Bianca. She needs to leave the pointe shoes home now we get it she can do it. Unless she’s gonna rip the piss and do Swine Lake or something I dont need to see her fulfil her Pavlova fantasies.

Silky, well it seems I’m the only one who likes her. She’s the underdog, her hems are raggedy, her wigs are borrowed but she pulls it out for the camera. She has the on button stars often have. I do want to defend Silky, it’s incredibly difficult to be a drag queen but being a plus size drag queen must be incredibly hard. You can’t buy off the rack, you can’t walk down the runway in a corset and heels. I’m not giving her a pass but the vitriol seems based more in fatshaming. It’s like she can’t say anything because she’s fat. She doesn’t deserve an opinion or to defend herself.

For me it’s all up for grabs. It’s been a lump of coal season so let’s hope someone can be polished by the final.

As far as Brooke doing her ballet gimmick during the lipsync, I am surprised she wasn't called out for it.  We've seen it.  Then we've seen it again.  The novelty has worn off.  I think she won the lipsync, because she sold the number more with her facial expressions.  Plus I think Michelle was vocal about all the chances Vanjie has had.  Yvie was the best thing in that dull number and looked the best on the runway.  It was something different compared to the others.  Now as far as Silky, she says too much.  Doesn't matter if she is fat or skinny.  It is usually her that runs her mouth first and always in a vicious manner.  Then she tries to pull that she is a bible thumper and will forgive anybody that reads her back.  I know so many queens in the real world that like to be funny with the reads and insults, but when you flip the script on them then they play the victim.  My feeling is if you are man/woman to open your mouth first, be prepared for the consequences that come with it.

For me the last two lip syncs have both been meh to quote RuPaul.

I do like Nina and would have liked to have seen her progress but sometimes I think it's also the catalogue of songs they are given, there's versatility and then there's off brand.

I understand what you mean about Silky but as a European I don't get the nuance of the politics or religion. I do stand by my point that the vitriol bigger queens deal with comes from a place of hate rather than criticism.

Silky walked in confident and loud in the first episode, if I could MEME that there would be an arrow over Silky saying American and the rest of the Queens looking at her with an arrow saying European. I find it funny people criticise her for qualities that the rest of the world see as Uber Merican, confident and loud.

Gizmo6, I don't mind confident and loud.  And she is funny.  She made me laugh on many occasions.  That doesn't change the fact that she can be mean and unforgiving.  She is a cliché.  She likes to dish it out, but she can't take it.  I think that since the show taped she maybe has learned something about herself. Hopefully for the better.

SOOO happy with the end of this dreadful season!  Not going to say too much so as not to spoil it for others, but all day I was feeling that the end of this show would make me so angry.  The right people made it to the end and the right person won, that's all that matters!

If the winner was being chosen by that final lipsync, it should have been Brooke. I wanted Yvie to win and I’m happy she did, but she really dropped the ball on the performance. I felt it was the perfect, lackluster final performance for the most lackluster season the show has ever seen.

^Right!! That lip sync was weak. I kept waiting for her to do a reveal or something and she just kind of stood there and moved her upper body. I kept yelling "Yvie come on!". Lol. I felt like Cynthia yelling at Charlie Hydes during his lipsynce.

I called it in a previous post it was going to be between Brook and Yvie, and I've been team Yvie for quite some time now so I'm glad she won.

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm glad for the outcome.  Although, I didn't think she would take the crown, she has been my favorite all season, due to her mostly down to earth personality.  The more I thought about Brooke, in the last few days, I couldn't really rationalize what was special about her to take the crown.  During the reunion, she really turned me off when she admitted to ET (I think) that she said everybody hated Scarlett.  It was really a "mean girl" moment and it is equally as mean as not one queen came to Scarlett's defense.  But Scarlett is getting the last laugh....she's going on All Stars 5, where many of the others were not even asked.

That's great news for Scarlett I really don't understand the vitriol she got. What I saw was a queen who probably didn't even see the other queens she was feeling her oats so much. She seemed to me to love drag to love the femme more so than love her self.

I think the season suffers from not being progressive, like there was nothing new, from the promo we've seen it all before, its now so insular in the way the queens mostly looked like previous queens.

I will say that this year they all seemed a bit raggedy around the edges.

I never took to Brookes personality, I did like Silky but she had no arch, and Akeria while having potential seemed stuck in this old-fashioned glamour box, and I still feel I didn't really know her.

I don't like this lip synch format at the end. I liked the original songs more.

The life story videos were a bit boring.

They really should have added Vanje to the wheel.

It'll be interesting to see what way they format the UK version which is out next I think.

Show needs a refresh and new writers, it's a bit stale.

Oh and I hated Ru's looks this season.

The right queen won and I am glad the season is over and I hope they take a hiatus. There was very, very little excitement over this finale- nearly everyone I know just got burned out and over it.

The next season should be the UK season, right? I believe I read VH1 will be airing it at or around the same time it airs over there.

Artman, I haven’t heard anything about AS5 happening. You say they’ve already cast it?

Jordan, If you go to the site on youtube that I have mentioned prior on this thread, they give the spoilers for All Stars 5.  They have been 99% accurate for the last two years on their "predictions".  The season cast according to them is majority Season 10 Queens, some Season 11 and a few oldsters I didn't know  (Ogina).

It was Evie and Brooklyn doing the two extremes of Drag Race Lipsync -- one stood and posed, the other ran around.  At least Evie seemed to have some vague idea of what she was singing about.

As others have said.  Whatever.

I sincerely wish they’d wait a few years before the next season of All Stars.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m simply sick of Drag Race.

Also, when Ru said it was a show by, about and for gay people, if you listened carefully you could hear straight girls all over the country getting triggered.

I'll take a terrible boring season of Drag Race over anything else. But I wish a big girl could win.

Because if we've learned anything in the last 50 years it's the importance of representation, visibility, in combatting prejudice.

The big queen is a stock character in the show, two dimensional. Plus size representation hasn't benefitted from the diversity other groups have had on the show.

No one wants an undeserving winner, its reductionist to say that, what people want is a more diverse cast to offer equal opportunities to all at the crown, be it plus size, latin queen etc It's difficult for a queen from these groups to win when they both are token queens each season.

I think the show is incredibly diverse. Several top 3s have been all people of color and several big girls have made it to the top three and four. “Big” girls and queens of color have always been represented. So many winners have been queens of color, starting with seasons 1, 2, and 3. Season 3 alone had three big girls, and so many queens of color.

I agree that television and film needs more diversity but I think Drag Race goes above and beyond with trying to cast an incredibly diverse group of contestants.
