I'll preface this with the edit disclaimer.

But, the anger from Vixen was so misplaced. I understand she's angry (stemming from SouthSide Trash incident. But she is just a one note Queen then. I don't think there are race issues with Drag Race, one of the great things about it is imo it represents the diversity (bar drag kings) of our community, plus size queens, people of colour and people living with HIV. People of colour have done very well on the show. So while I understand this anger at the world, the world of Drag Race Vixen should have left that anger people and developed her character. She entered the workroom looking to fight, who does that? The way it is, she will only alienate the audience she is trying to challenge in her work and will just be preaching into an echo chamber.

I am happy for Kameron and she was the best Cher, I like Monet but she needs to bring it.

Eureka has come across so well in this season, she handled herself well in front of all the anger, granted I'm in Europe I can't always access Untucked. I was sad to see Monique Heart go I really enjoyed her. I don't think Melania Trump one is as rounded as people give her credit for. Melania was just her. Crackers lace fronts irk me, I don't know why, they seem odd.

I like Asia and loved her fish face.

The way it's going I'd like to see Eureka win and it would be the first plus size queen, Monet and Asia hopefully at the top too.

My guess is that Kameron will get the top-of-the-world to bottom-of-the-heap arc and sashay away next week. Who will follow him next? I'm guessing Cracker-- a great looks-queen with a constipated performance style.

That leaves a final 4 of Eureka, Aquaria, Monet and Asia, which seems right to me. And I agree with those who think the crown is Eureka's to lose.

This week was kind of underwhelming, but I am definitely warming up to Kameron now. I've heard rumors of what happens the next few weeks and I feel as though they are accurate.

Click Here To Toggle Spoiler Content

Kameron is said to be in the bottom each of the next 3 weeks, but sends Monet and Cracker home, and has a double shante with Eureka, even though she is said to out-perform Eureka.

Weeks coming up are said to be:

Kameron vs. Monet - Monet leaves - Eureka or Asia win

Kameron vs. Eureka - Double shante - Aquaria or Asia win

Kameron vs. Cracker - Cracker leaves.

If this is accurate, I don't think Kameron will get the crown, but I believe (if they do a final 4 lip-sync off) that Kameron may finish top 2, even though I think it should be Eureka and Aquaria at this point.

I'm sure the general public enjoys seeing someone play "the villain" in these "reality" shows; that's why every show has one, and why the ridiculous and lowbrow genre is so successful. You can never underestimate the masses.

I just find the behavior so vulgar and crass that I tend to mute that person. And that's what happened with The Vixen. He's clearly jealous that Eureka was doing so well; it's odd how the pageant queens never seem to come in realizing that this show is about more than merely creating great looks, and then they always get nasty to the queens who can actually sing and act (shades of Phi Phi O'Hara and RoXy Andrews).

But to call Eureka "unprofessional" was just ludicrous. The Vixen may do a good show in real life, but he really turned me off on this season's RDR.

The Vixen's exit interview with Vulture is actually really great reading.

That Vulture interview reminds me of Theresa Rebeck's claims that she only fails because of misogyny.

The drag world has the potential to be a supportive rainbow, to start doing racism down. The Vixen seems to want to throw gasoline on the flames and destroy the world, rather than work to improve it. Sadly, he's not alone in that approach. Far too many people value rage over love.

Did Raja's Pit Stop post-mortem of the show last week and Michelle Visage's interview with the offed queen simply not happen due to the LA Drag-Con getting in the way? The NewNowNext site reliably posts both clips, but this week, nada. Not that I really need another autopsy on the show from last week (which I mostly enjoyed), but seeing those takes on the behind-the-scenes intrigue was always a nice recap for me.

^Strike that part about no Watcha Packin' this week--- it just appeared on NewNowNext. Woefully underwhelming look into the Vixen's psyche. I'm still hoping the Pit Stop shows up soon.

^ Well that was underwhelming too-- I think there's no less intellectual a queen in the whole Ru pantheon than Valentina, so basically that was a Raja monologue. Ah well-- 3 days till the new episode.

Did anyone else find that Breastworld skit to be rather devoid of laughs?

But the lip synch was good this week.

I just don't see a real star anywhere this season - we've been spoiled by Bianca and Bob and Alaska and Jinkx.

Yes, I just finished watching and didn't find the skit very funny.  Even the runway look was boring.  I did like the lip synch.  Surprised that Kameron did that good.  Only surprise of the evening was that RuPaul's hips for her runway look didn't grow any bigger.  This season her padding seems to get bigger each episode.

Yes, Ru seems to be putting on weight in the midsection, and is trying to compensate with rather cartoonish padding. But you'll never catch her in a muumuu!

The writing of Breastworld was...oy.  But I will say that this might be the first acting challenge in which everyone did rather well.  No one actually embarrassed themselves.  In the final cut, they all came off as, at the very least, passably competent...which I don't think I can say about any other acting challenge on this show.  And that lip synch was fantastic.  For the first time in a long time, I think the double shante was deserved.

Can I talk for a second about who has the soul of a drag queen here and who doesn't? After last night's mostly anemic episode (laughless Breastworld script, villain-less workroom with the exit of The Vixen), I'm having a very hard time seeing the SOUL of a drag queen in evidence in at least three of the queens still standing: Kameron, Aquaria and Mz Cracker. They all lack the extrovert gene that would make them the natural life of the party. They avoid showing any emotion other than disdain (and maybe deep fear) for any honest interaction with the other girls in the room. And they each have a real problem with being funny, just basic run-of-the-mill FUNNY.

The last time someone as cool and studied as this won the crown was probably Violet Chatchki, but at least SHE had some serious acrobatic talents to balance her less than warm and winning personality.

Call me old school-- I want America's Next Drag Superstar to be a livewire laugh-a-minute personality who makes the party anywhere she is. That describes Eureka, Asia and Monet to a tee, but leaves the other 3 in the dust.

That was a pretty bland episode overall and the sketch was one of the worst of all time. Not because the performances were bad, they were actually pretty uniformly serviceable (with Monet and Asia as the clear standouts). But that writing was HORRIBLE. Who wrote that script? Yikes! Totally devoid of humor.

But then... that LIP SYNC!!! LEGENDARY!!! Actually screamed at the top of my lungs when Kameron finally kicked the whole thing into high gear with that first head shake. Was it just me, or did it also seem like the lengthiest cut of a lip sync the show has ever had? There was just SO much good happening on that stage, I’m so happy Ru kept both girls. Well-deserved.

Stray thought: I know everyone has their own tastes, but WHAT is Michelle smoking when it comes to Asia? Because she needs to lay off it. First, that epic mermaid look; now, this Harlem granny ensemble that absolutely slayed me. She “didn’t get it” but I’m over here living and dying for it and so was the entire room of homos I was in. Baffled.

Well, in her defense, she's not getting Asia's commentary on the outfit, she's just seeing it walk down the runway. His commentary is what sold me on that Granny in Harlem look because I've totally seen that woman.

I really enjoyed the episode! And I like bitch cried through that lipsync. So good. Glad they're both here, but I'm Team Eureka all day. I hope the top 2 is Monet and Eureka.

I like Miz Cracker, but she's yet to, like, show us anything. She's got solid looks, but...? I'm kind of hoping they do something more improvy so she can shine.

I'm surprised all these episodes in, and they still haven't done a Roast maxi-challenge. Don't really care whom they roast, but for once that would be a challenge that tests the girls' own powers of witty writing and performance that matches the talents that real live working drag queens always need in their arsenal. Maybe that's coming in this week's episode. Tic-toc...

This week’s episode is the makeover challenge. And given that there will only be 5 queens left, I doubt next week will be a roast. It’ll likely be another runway performance.

If you missed them earlier this year, Hot Topic has their exclusive Drag Race Funko Pops back in stock. They were going for a pretty penny on EBay. Just ordered Trixie for myself and Alaska for my Mom (she is a huge Alaska fan). Don’t love the RuPaul design, so passed on her.

That really was great, thanks for posting.

And I doubt we'll get a roast either. I just hope there's no soup can challenge, that's all I ask.

I don't begrudge the judges but I'm super-sad to see Monet sashay away ahead of a few other girls. I know she wasn't a network-polished queen in the lewks department, but that girl was real and funny and I wanted to hear everything that came out of her mouth. Her confessionals were highpoints of every show. The idea of the insufferable Aquaria getting even more miserable confessional time turns my stomach. And Mz Cracker? Or Kameron Michaels? I can't remember a funny word those girls ever said.

We've got 2 weeks till the next broadcast. Okay, Asia and Eureka-- step it up to the max, you queens. Don't make me regret having rooted for you from the get-go.

Sorry to see Monet go -- one of the least deserving eliminations in the history of this show, I think.  Kameron and Aquaria would have been far more worthy departures.  I'm not sure I give a damn about this season any more.  Especially after watching RuPaul have to drag a performance out of Eureka in that Butch Photo challenge -- is she really going to crown her as the Next Drag Superstar?

I think I'm over it.

Asia is the only queen I'm rooting for at this point.  I like Cracker a lot, but she isn't coming off great on the show, and I'm sure she'll shine post-Drag Race without the win.  If she works her tail off, like Trixie has, she will have a great career.

I've done a lot of reading on how the show works, and there is a good amount of evidence that the producers pick the winner for many seasons before the competition even starts.  I feel like this is happening with Eureka, as there has never been a plus size winner, and she has performed the strongest of the previous, lackluster options in that category.  While I find her annoying in the Werk Room, I've warmed up to her a bit.  Though there have been rumblings online of some rather rude and diva-ish behavior from some of the queens (I guess she snubbed Asia at Drag Con, not giving her the time of day when she tried to get a picture with her).

As someone who often struggles to verbalize their feeling, I empathize with Aquaria, but she also has a chip on her shoulder that more years on this planet will surely remove.

I'm baffled by Kameron.  I think Monet lost that lip-sync before it even began, even though IMO she performed better than Kameron. Monet isn't the most polished queen, but I like that she's a bit rough around the edged, and she has that IT factor that Kameron lacks.

Anyone can go on the VH1 Drag Race website and vote now for MISS CONGENIALITY! (Votes accepted till June 6, I believe.) I'm with you in defending Monet XChange as a human being I adore even if her runway looks weren't a standout. She got my vote for Miss C! Who's yours?-- and show us your homework to defend your choice.
