Hm yes please do not spoil for those who haven’t seen it, but okay. I’m going to do all I can to see it at TFANA audience now for sure!! Still hoping for a transfer however

Im thinking Slave Play is also too mature for a broadway audience. I’ve never seen it, although I’d like to, but it’d make news if it came to broadway for sure.

Just as an advisory, the entire first week and most of the 2nd week run of Fairview are some out at TFANA. Unfortunately sold out when I will be there too. I’m really hoping this transfers!!! Also, maybe this should just become the plays of the 2019-2020 season thread lol

For those of you who have seen Fairview, how much importance would you place on seeing it with the New York cast? A very good regional theater near where I live is mounting it next season, but obviously, with a different cast. Is the original cast integral enough to how amazing the play apparently is that I should make a point to see it in New York now, even though I’ll be able to see a different production of it in the fall? Thanks

The original cast is excellent, as is Sarah Benson’s direction - but I think you’d be fine seeing another production, as long as they have a good understanding of the play. Remember that the Pulitzer is awarded to the material, not to the production.

There's an EPA for The Inheritance on Broadway, with "performance dates 2019 or 2020 TBD," so I guess it's coming next season.

Was going to update this yesterday with that news, thanks Kad!

I am so excited for this play. An easy early contender for Best Play most likely. What theatre do you expect this to play? My money is on the Belasco

It's my understanding the workshop is mostly to secure investors and/or a non-profit to secure a run. Let's hope it does. I saw it twice in London and need to a dozen more times.
"

You made it through both parts two times, and need to see another dozen times?

Lehman has been talked about for months on these boards in terms of a LCT transfer.

My Fair Lady is closing in July so timing makes sense. Lehman Trilogy in West End ends this summer so perhaps we may see this come to Broadway as soon as fall 2019?

As for The Inheritance, it's an intimate play and hopefully they'll get one of the smaller & more intimate theaters on Broadway.

Lehman trilogy opened last night in London, to fantastic reviews. Especially for the 3 actors. Cant wait for an official announcement!

I just read that the Lehman Trilogy runs 3 and a half hours. OMG. That poor staff at LCT.

It depends on one's perspective. They'll get overtime pay so for some people that's a plus!

I think the stage hands would benefit the most given their pay is so extraordinary. The front of the house not so much I would guess although I am no expert.

LCT is no stranger to long productions. They did Coast of Utopia, after all.

I won’t be able to catch Fairview, can someone who’s seen it reveal what happens at the end in a ~spoiler tag~?

At the end, every White member of the audience is invited to come up onto the stage. Naturally, this is pretty doable in a small house. But if you have 900 white people attending the show (as you likely would on Broadway), they just won’t be able to fit onstage, and the effect would be lost.
