i imagine this closes by end of summer but reemerges as an immersive thing when the margaretaville hotel opens in midtown in a few years.

Very mean spirited of you. Do you really have a need to disparage the show's target audience as well as the show? There may be one or two Parrotheads who fall outside your stereotype...

Once they find that lost shaker of salt, it's over.

How can it be true if they are clearly unable to get butts in seats?

Wouldn't the kind of people who would love anything Jimmy Buffet be the kind of people who would rather die than set foot in New York City (or any major city that's not a beach resort really), anyway? It'd probably do a lot better as a tour than as a production in a very Un-Florida place like Broadway.

We all know that wishing for a show to close is considered a jerk move. Mainly because it’s kinda not cool to wish for people to be out of work. Shows closing impact more than cast and crew. It impacts ushers too. Now, I don’t know what it says about me when I personally fit into The aforementioned categories and I STILL want this show to close.

He feels that because he has some financial stake in the show he can do or have it be what he wants without realizing that there are some things that can’t be done and there are also union rules too. I do work there, so I don’t feel comfortable going into too much of the way of examples on a public forum.

However, I will share a story that did make the news so it’s already public. Before previews, Jimmy had this idea that he was adamant about. He felt very strongly that the ushers be of a certain age to match the age of his fan base. Now, that couldn’t happen. Not only because of union rules coming into play and the ushers being employed of Nederlander, but it’s also age discrimination too. Not something that can happen in the workplace. Needless to say, he was pissed and it just went all down hill from there.

It's doing alright, stoners during the summertime will be coming out, especially in the worst place in the world, Times Square.  It's got a few more months, I'm sure.  They should have done a tour or did this in Vegas.  It doesn't belong on Broadway.   It's a joke.
