Finals and end of the year events can be difficult and exhausting for MT majors; however, what can be even more stressful is trying to find productive theatre work for the summer. There are tons of auditions for summer stock, internship interviews, and recording sessions for video auditions. It is impossible to juggle auditioning for multiple places with school work and rehearsals for college productions.

Makeup is an art form that has evolved into a billion dollar industry. It affects women and men across the globe and is a storytelling device as well as a cultural norm. Stage makeup is a tool that elevates to the overall production value of a show.

As a BFA MT Freshman at the University of Memphis, I was so excited to learn that my department would be putting on the thrilling new musical Be More Chill. It is rare that a college production occurs while a show is transitioning to a Broadway stage; however, we are so fortunate to be performing such a relevant and high energy show.

As musical theatre majors, we basically live multiple lives in one day. Our classes are unlike any other major in terms of daily requirements. Those requirements include not only an extreme amount of emotional and physical stamina, but also an exorbitant amount of stuff. My book bag contains my life and universe and without it I would fail my courses.
