A self-deprecating comic with a distinctive voice, Matt Storer has been making waves on the Perth comedy scene for a few years now. I was lucky enough to see him perform at TOD Talks (a send up of the famous TED Talks) during this most recent Fringeworld, where comedians delivered improvised speeches about a topic chosen at random by the audience. Storer performed admirably then, but my experience at Wuss indicates that he's also excellent with pre-prepared material as well.

During comedy festivals it's quite common to see comedians meeting with fans and audience members after the show. But Janelle Koenig is the first one I've seen at the Perth Comedy Festival who came out BEFORE the show to have a chat.

Having sold out shows in Australia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Singapore, British born Rory Lowe has performed more than 300 times since he was nominated for 'Best Comedy' at last year's FRINGE WORLD. A great performer and storyteller as well as a comedian, Get Rich or High Tryin' was a laugh a minute show which routinely had the audience in stitches.

Cameron McLaren won the FRINGE WORLD Best WA Comedy Award in 2017, but the opening of his new show Dardy McFly at the Perth Comedy Festival was nothing I would have written home about.

Not your typical comedy, The Big Thingy is quite unlike anything I've ever seen onstage before. The show sees performer Nadia Collins embody an orange, cardboard suited alien who lands on earth and must learn how to be human from her audience. Think Mr Bean if he was an alien from Classic Doctor Who, replete with a cardboard and tinfoil set and you're probably not too far off the mark.

Colin Ebsworth has been doing stand up for a decade now - no mean feat for someone so young. At 25 he has a cheeky and personable stage presence, comfortably spanning a range of topics from sex and relationships, to racial tensions abroad and at home, as well as a hilarious theory that Bunnings is secretly a cult.

In a world where reality television contestants routinely backstab their way into the spotlight, Famous Sharron's Love Match was not entirely what I was expecting. I'm not the biggest fan of reality television, and with this being my first proper introduction to Famous Sharron I was a little wary about what I was in for. I needn't have worried.

UNSUITABLE might also be considered extreme, albeit in a much different way. At times it is playful, rude, and delightfully grungy, with political commentary peppered in among acrobatic feats and slapstick comedy.
