Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner and EMPIRE co-creator Danny Strong partners with David Elliot ("Four Brothers") to tell the emotional story of one woman's fight for the innocence of others, as well as her own. PROVEN INNOCENT follows an underdog criminal defense firm led by a fierce and UNCOMPROMISING lawyer, who was wrongfully convicted in a sensational murder case that made her an infamous media obsession, a household name and a national cause célèbre. The drama stars Rachelle Lefevre ("Under the Dome," "A Gifted Man"), Vincent Kartheiser ("Mad Men"), Russell Hornsby ("Seven Seconds," "Grimm"), Brian d'Arcy James ("13 Reasons Why," "Spotlight") and Tony Award winner Nikki M. James ("BrainDead," "The Good Wife," "The Book of Mormon").

James won a Tony Award for her role of 'Nabulungi' in Broadway's BOOK OF MORMAN. Other Broadway credits include 2014's LES MISERABLES, 2005's ALL SHOOK UP and 2001's THE ADVENTURES OF Tom Sawyer. The actress recently starred in CBS summer series Braindead opposite Aaron Tveit and appeared in a recurring role on The Good Wife.

Brian d'Arcy James originated the role of King George in the sold-out Off-Broadway run of Hamilton at The Public Theater. In 2015, immediately following Hamilton, Brian starred in the Broadway musical SOMETHING ROTTEN. In film, Brian starred in the 2016 Academy Award-winning Best Picture SPOTLIGHT, and was awarded the 2016 SAG Award, Critics Choice Award, Gotham Award and the Independent Spirit's Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble for his portrayal of Matt Carroll. Off Broadway highlights include his Obie winning solo performance of THE GOOD THIEF, Drama Desk nominations for GIANT and THE WILD PARTY along with originating roles in NEXT TO NORMAL and FLOYD COLLINS, among others. He can also be seen in the latest Netflix series 13 REASONS WHY.
