SIERRA REIN Reprises Hit Debut Solo Show RUNNING IN PLACE at Laurie Beechman Theatre, 9/22 & 9/26

Ever since Sierra Rein came to New York from California in 2008, she's been running. Not running as in competitive races or on a treadmill at the gym, but running to catch her dreams. Sierra has achieved success in regional theater, cruise line shows, and performing in the award-winning vocal group Marquee Five, but she still knows what it's like to feel as if she's Running In Place.

Sierra launched her much-anticipated debut solo cabaret show RUNNING IN PLACE at The Laurie Beechman Theater in April and May and earned raves for a performance that weaved together American Songbook gems, contemporary Broadway and pop, and new cabaret classics, in an inspiring rundown on dreaming against all odds. Directed by James Beaman with Musical Direction by Bill Zeffiro (with Matt Scharfglass on Bass and Rex Benincasa on Drums), RUNNING IN PLACE features compositions by Stephen Sondheim, Dave Frishberg, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Zina Goldrich & Marcy Heisler, Kander & Ebb, and more.

SIERRA REIN Reprises Hit Debut Solo Show RUNNING IN PLACE at Laurie Beechman Theatre, 9/22 & 9/26 "Friends had been encouraging me to perform a solo cabaret show for years," Sierra admits, "and I was inspired while listening to the cast album of Kander & Ebb's musical Steel Pier, especially the number "Running in Place." I'm hoping my show will encourage audiences to Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare, and to maintain momentum even when they feel like they're . . . running in place."

Bio: Described as "Voluptuous in both voice and body" by BroadwayWorld.com, Sierra Rein brings energy, spunk, dramatic soprano flair, and tight-harmony dexterity to theater and film roles across the US and the open seas. In recent years, she waved wands, tentacles, and swords as Ursula (from The Little Mermaid), Fairy Godmother, various "Moms," and a Pirate for Disney Cruise Line. In regional theater, Sierra's roles included: City of Angels (Goodspeed), The Little Shop of Horrors (Utah Shakespearean Festival), Boys From Syracuse and The Pajama Game (Reprise!), Camelot and The Sound of Music (Fullerton CLO), Strange Fruit (NY City Opera), Master Class (Odyssey Theater), and Bare (Hudson Theater).
