Norwegian Cruise Lines Partners With Broadway Theatre Project Now entering its 28th year, Broadway Theatre Project (BTP), a program described by Playbill as "The world's most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students", welcomes Robert Dean Hertenstein, Senior Director of Entertainment Production for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to the visiting faculty this summer.

He oversees the entire fleet of 25 ships between three brands; Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas. Robert Dean is both in charge of the creative vision and produces the shows onboard the ships, which runs from show content to casting. He recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary with NCLH. BTP has been proud to be associated with NCLH on a variety of projects due to the fact that many of the shows are Broadway driven with some coming straight from Broadway accompanied by the original creatives who then mount them at Norwegian's Creative Studios in Riverview, FL.

"It is always a pleasure to collaborate with Broadway Theatre Project and their enthusiastic students. I feel it is important to give back, provide support and help to mentor the next generation of theatrical talent. Encouraging and developing triple threats has been beneficial for everyone involved - we've even hired a few gems who've gone on to successful contracts on ships sailing around the world with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings' international fleet."

Norwegian is offering BTP many opportunities this summer. These opportunities could be life changing for some. Apprentices will take class with several of their choreographers, there will be a day, BTP Day at NCL Creative Studios, where apprentices will become acquainted with the facilities and will watch a performance by the cast that performs on Norwegian's Sky! Different casts from different ships will perform numbers in our end of Project performances with as well.

In addition, every BTP apprentice will participate in a Norwegian casting group mock audition so students can become accustomed to the audition process. HOWEVER, students over the age of 18 who meet NCL's expectations will actually be considered for a position as a performer with Norwegian Cruise Line.

There are BTP positions available for a very small number of apprentices at this time, however, applicants must call Debra McWaters, President, at 813-766-1014 immediately. Please visit to http://broadwaytheatreproject.com/ and become familiar with the Project before calling.
