High School Drama: Lipscomb Academy's ADDISON McFARLIN and KELLER MONTGOMERY

Like every high school senior before, Lipscomb Academy's Addison McFarlin and Keller Montgomery are trying to store away as many memories as possible during their final year of high school, while maintaining their GPAs, going to class and being a part of campus life. But Addison and Keller are actors, so their schedules are even fuller, particularly this week as they find themselves in the middle to Tech Week for Lipscomb Academy's fall musical Big Fish, directed by Kari Smith.

Once again, the pair of talented young people play opposite each other, having been cast as Cinderella and Prince Topher in last spring's Cinderella at Lipscomb Academy. With opening night just hours away, Addison and Keller are the subjects of our latest High School Drama, giving readers the chance to get to know them better before watching them take the stage in Big Fish, which runs December 7 and 8, 14 and 15, at Lipscomb Academy (curtain is at 7 p.m. December 7, 14 and 15, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, December 8).

What is your theatrical goal in life? My dream is to be able to make a living as an actress. I plan on moving to New York City in hopes of a Broadway career after getting my BFA in musical theatre. The biggest goal I have would be to be able to support myself doing what I love.

If you could play any role in any show, what would you choose? My dream role had always been Eponine until I saw Anastasia this summer. Now I am dying to play Anastasia!

What's been your best theatrical experience to date? I was in Cinderella last spring! It was my favorite role I have ever played- the dress transformed on stage. For my performance I was nominated for the Spotlight Award for Best Actress and the day of the awards/ performing at TPAC was my favorite theatrical experience I have ever had.

Who are your favorite actors? Jeremy Jordan, of course. Along with him I adore Barrett Wilbert Weed, Samantha Barks and Hailey Kilgore!

What show that you've never seen would you most like to see live, onstage? Mean Girls. I know that is so basic, but I just have to see it.

What's next in store for you, theatrically speaking? I plan to begin the next part of my journey this fall when I go to college to major in musical theatre. After earning my BFA in musical theatre, I plan to move right to the heart of theatre in New York City!

What is your theatrical goal in life? My goal is to focus on making the upcoming show as great as possible, then continue performing in college as much as I can. We'll have to see where it goes from there, but no matter what, I hope that I can keep doing theatre for the rest of my life!

If you could play any role in any show, what would you choose? If I could play any role, I'd love to play Javert in Les Misérables.

What's been your best theatrical experience to date? To date, my best theatrical experience has been getting to play the role of Edward Bloom in Big Fish!

Who are your favorite actors? If there's one actor who I could call my favorite, I'd say Nobert Leo Butz. I've been taking a lot of inspiration from him for my upcoming role!

What show that you've never seen would you most like to see live, onstage? Hamilton is a show that I've never seen onstage, but I'd love to see it if I ever have the chance!

What's next in store for you, theatrically speaking? Well, after high school, I definitely plan on doing theatre in college and beyond. I don't know if I'll ever try to pursue theatre as a career, but I hope to always keep performing in some way!
