Generation Productions Expands Local Play Reading Series Orlando Production Company Generation Productions and theater production services company Atomic No. 6 will expand upon their newly developed local reading series, presenting a new play reading each month.

"Our mission with this series has been getting new and original works read to an audience," says series curator, Orlando writer Michael Knight. "One of the biggest challenges when developing a new play can be for writers to hear their work read by professional actors and being able to receive real feedback from an audience. This opportunity for an almost 'mini-workshop' can make all the difference to writers trying to get their projects off the ground."

Local Central Florida playwrights are encouraged to submit their new works for consideration, and one selection will have the opportunity each month to perform a 90-minute or one act reading for audiences. Each winner will also be provided with complimentary services from Atomic No. 6 for one year in order to help them mount a full production of their work, including access to contract templates, assistance with insurance, financial management services, budgeting consultation, and more.

Readings are presented each month to the community free of charge.

"Over the past few months we've been working at establishing this series within the local community, and we're excited to continue to grow and expand this endeavor," said Aaron Safer, owner and producer at Generation Productions. "With this series, we're able to present a unique opportunity for local playwrights to not only have the opportunity to expose their work to patrons, but also offering them access to tools and resources to take their project to the next level."

Synopsis: In the 1600s the King James Bible was created, giving us a new perspective on the Christian stories and values that society itself had placed its entire structure upon. But why was it re written? Where did the translation come from? In this satirical comedy, the historically gay King James introduces his fabulous new ideas for how to present the Bible to the world with a little flair and pizazz, to the chagrin of two priests who are nothing if not traditional. With fast paced comedy and topical wit, this fictional look at the development of the most popular version of the bible explores the role of the church, the role of the Scripture itself, and the role of the people who put their faith in it every day. Come on, shouldn't religion be just a little more fabulous?
