Cast Announced For First Major Revival Of Jerusalem By Jez Butterworth

The Watermill Theatre announces the cast for the first major revival of Jez Butterworth's multi award-winning, West End and Broadway hit, JERUSALEM which opens at the theatre on 21 June to 21 July.

Jasper Britton (RSC, National Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe) will play the irrepressible Johnny 'Rooster' Byron, the anarchic character at the play's heart. Also in the cast are Adam Burton (Luke Parsons/Troy Whitworth), Peter Caulfield (Ginger), Richard Evans (The Professor), Robert Fitch (Wesley), Rebecca Lee (Tanya), Nenda Neurer (Pea/Phaedra), Santino Smith (Davey), Sam Swann (Lee) and Natalie Walter (Linda Fawcett/Dawn).

Directed by Lisa Blair, JERUSALEM paints a defiant, alternative vision of life in the idyllic English countryside and is a perfect fit for The Watermill Theatre's rural setting, adjoining the county of Wiltshire where the play is set.

Inciting his own special brew of anarchy, Johnny 'Rooster' Byron fights against the hypocrisy of modern suburban life and embodies the spirit of England's legendary giants of myth.

JERUSALEM is designed by Frankie Bradshaw, lighting design is by Christopher Nairne and Tom Attwood is sound designer and musical director. It is produced by The Watermill Theatre.
